(Downs-jm) -- The McLean County Sheriff’s office is seeking the public’s help in finding two individuals who stole money from gaming machines at a Downs business. Police say the two men entered the Downs Travel Mart on December 31st and took an undisclosed amount of money from gaming machines in the establishment. One of the male subjects wore a red and black Budweiser jacket while the other wore a black jacket and a stocking cap. Police believe the men may be tied to similar crimes in Chenoa, Mount Vernon, Salem, Farina and Effingham. Anyone with information is asked to call the McLean County Sheriff’s office at 309-888-5019 or McLean County Crime Stoppers at 309-828-1111.

(Mahomet-jm) -- Students in the Mahomet Seymour school district will have new ways of learning thanks to the district’s education foundation. The Mahomet Seymour Education Foundation awarded over $19,000 in grants to teachers. In a release, Mahomet Seymour Schools Superintendent Lindsey Hall says the grants allow teachers to engage students in creative and innovative ways.
