(Mansfield-jm) -- The Northern Piatt Fire Protection District is Mansfield will hold an open house as part of Fire Prevention Week. The open house will take place tomorrow from 4 to 8 p.m. Activities include fire truck rides, giveaways and a chili supper. Fire Prevention Week runs through the 14th.

(LeRoy-jm) -- The LeRoy School Board will meet tonight in their regular monthly meeting. School board members are expected to hear and approve an audit done by Rick Phillips from Phillips and Association and discuss the preliminary tax levy for fiscal year 2019. The LeRoy School Board meeting gets underway at 6:30 p.m. at LeRoy High School.

The Farmer City VFW Post 6190 and the Ladies Auxiliary on the Square in downtown Farmer City is hosting a Fish Fry  Friday night from 5-8pm. Cost for Adults is $9. Children and Younger $5. Dine in or Carry out available.

The City of LeRoy will celebrate Oktoberfest from 10-3 Saturday on the Circle in Downtown LeRoy. There will be many craft and antique vendors. Farmer’s Market items, and many reclaimed and refurbished items will be available for purchase. Local and home based businesses will be represented. Local produce including pumpkins and fall vegetables will be available.  Many local vendors selling your favorite holiday flavored baked goods with Caramel Apples, Apple Fritters, Kettle Korn, Pumpkin donuts, Apple Slushes, Cider and more. Food Vendors include Healthy in a Hurry, and Zetti’s Food Trucks will be set up, and Panther Pause will be serving Polish Sausage and Sauerkraut. There will be free pumpkin painting and a bounce house for the kids. Face painting will also be available for a small fee.
