(Farmer City-jm) -- Schneider Elementary School could receive several upgrades this summer. The Blue Ridge School board is expected to approve remodeling the flooring in the office at Schneider as well as approve health life safety funds for phase 2 of window repairs and consider a camera system at Schneider. The school board will also consider a budget amendment at tonight’s meeting. The Blue Ridge School Board meeting gets underway at 7 p.m.

(Springfield-jm) -- Legislation that would allow 16 and 17 year olds  to register for the state’s organ and tissue donor registry when they receive their driver’s license or identification card is being sent to the Governor. Under current law, an individual must be at least 18 years old to join the registry. Approximately 4,700 people are on the waiting list and about 300 people die each year waiting on an organ transplant.  For more information about becoming an organ and tissue donor or to join the registry visit your local driver services facility or go online to life goes on dot com.
